Each entrant must be an individual member of Scottish Fencing in the Social, Under 13 or Under 20 category. They must attend a Scottish secondary school, which need not be registered as an affiliated school club of Scottish Fencing. Social members must upgrade their membership if they have fenced in a competition outside their club since 1 September 2014.

Fencers’ names must appear on the membership list obtained from British Fencing on 18th March, otherwise they will be required to pay the appropriate membership subscription at check-in.

Teams must represent Scottish secondary schools.
Each team member must be a current pupil of the school represented by the team.

Age Groups U15: aged under 15 on 1 January 2015.  O15: aged 15 or over on 1 January 2015.

Competition Format

Matches will be fought on the relay system (first team to score 45 hits). Teams must consist of 3 or 4 fencers: 3 fencers are deployed in each match, with a reserve (if available) who may substitute for tactical reasons, or in case of injury or indisposition.

Senior (O15) teams MUST have at least one O15 member named and fencing in each match.

Junior (U15) teams MUST NOT field any O15 members.

Equipment Regulations

Regulation fencing clothing must be worn, including jacket, underplastron, breeches, knee-length socks, indoor trainers. Tracksuit bottoms cannot be used. The minimum technical specification for clothing is CEN1 (350 Newton). For underplastrons, the minimum specification is CEN2 (800 Newton). For more detailed information see the British Fencing safety guidelines, published on www.britishfencing.com and obtainable in print from Scottish Fencing’s office.


Entry Fee: “early bird” entry fee for entries received by the 22nd Feb  2015  £33.00 per team. Entries received after this date will be charged at £42.00 per team. Cheques should be made payable to “Wallace Fencing Academy”.

Closing Date: Friday 13th March 2015, late entries at organisers’ discretion. Competitions having fewer than 3 teams entered by the closing date may be cancelled.
